Tom Adeyemi came off the bench in the 88th minute for Shane Ferguson as Birmingham tried to secure a replay after a Wilfried Bony double for the Swans but he couldn’t stop the Welsh side from progressing to the next round.

Mikel John Obi cut a desolated figure on Chelsea’s bench as Jose Mourinho preferred new signing Nemanja Matic and veteran Frank Lampard in the midfield. Oscar scored a stunning free kick to give Chelsea the win.
Bolton 0-1 Cardiff
Sanmi Odelusi was a 72nd minute sub for Kei Kamara as Bolton chased an equaliser. Peter Osaze Odemwingie didn’t make the Cardiff squad for the game thus fueling rumours he might be on his way to Stoke City just six months after joining the Welsh side.
Manchester City 4-2 Watford
Nigerian-born Scottish winger, Ike Anya played all 90 minutes as Watford succumbed to pressure and failed to cause a major upset at City of Manchester. Forestieri and Deeney gave Watford a two-nil lead in the first half but City came out blazing in the second-half. A Sergio Aguero hattrick and Alex Kolarov effort was enough to hand Pellegrini’s men a date with Chelsea in the next round.
Port Vale 1-3 Brighton
Jonathan Obika played all 90 minutes for Brighton, grabbing a goal in the comfortable win.
