The Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Multimix Export House organized a 2-Day Agro-Commodity Export Master Class held on 30
th June and 7
th July, 2018 at the Multimix Global Learning Center

From available statistics, only few countries in the world can match Nigeria’s endowment in the area of natural resources. The Country boasts of some of the finest deposits of oil and natural gas, a rain forest belt that offers the best cash crops and hardwood and a savanna region with very large tons of oil seeds, coffee, chilies, spices and abundant solid mineral resources.
The Master class which focused on export commodities: sesame seeds, ginger, cashew nuts and products, shea nuts/butter and processed vegetable & food products was designed for produce merchants, infant exporters, existing exporters, commodity brokers, foreign buyers, investors, financiers and government export facilitating and inspection agencies.

The Master Class involved interaction with experienced stakeholders in the Agricultural export commodity chain as Facilitators were drawn from amongst the value chain practitioners.
The 2-Day event facilitated using real life case-studies, discussions and presentations for knowledge dissemination looked at critical areas in the export business; building blocks of export trade, managing international payment risks & documentation, sourcing finance for export trade, commodity sourcing and logistics, AGOA opportunities, finding the American market, costing, regulatory compliance amongst others.
Joyce Akpata, Director General, NACC, stated that the Chamber is working closely with relevant stakeholders to promote AGOA as the act offers the potential of boosting commodity export from Sub-Saharan Africa to the United States. Nigeria is blessed with commodities for export and we can leverage our abundance to create jobs, increase foreign reserves and foster socio-economic growth and development.
