Enyeama Makes CAF Team Of The Decade

  Former Super Eagles of Nigeria goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama, has been included by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) in the CAF Team of the Decade, from 2011-2020. The former Lille of France shot-stopper, who also is the joint most capped player in the history of the Super Eagles with 101 appearances, is the only Nigerian player that made the list.

Enyeama within the period considered, won the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations with the Super Eagles, manned the post for Nigeria as they finished in the second round of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, and was equally outstanding for his French club, Lille. IFFHS in a 4-3-3 set up placed the Nigerian between the sticks, while  Kalidou Koulibaly (Napoli/Senegal), Eric Bailly (Manchester United/Ivory Coast), Medhi Benatia (Al-Duhail SC/ Morocco), and Ahmed Fathy (Pyramids/Egypt), completed the defence line.

In the middle of the park, Ivory Coast and Manchester City legend Yaya Toure, alongside Algerian and Manchester City of England star, Riyad Mahrez, and Ghanaian football, Andrew Ayew who plays with Swansea City, completes the setup. Gabon and Arsenal FC of England striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leads the attack which also comprises of Sadio Mane (Senegal), and Mohamed Salah (Egypt).
