Election 2023: Dates Of Party Primaries 

As Nigerians set to elect their new political office holders at various levels, parties are underway preparing for their respective primaries where they would elect their presidential, gubernatorial, Senate and House of Representatives, and other level candidates. However, there have been rumours of shifting the dates by various political parties. To this end, party chairmen and secretaries have addressed the rumours by releasing the official dates of their primaries.

Highlighted below are the  dates of party primaries of various political parties:

All Progressives Congress (APC)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has modified its plan of activities for the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and state House of Assembly primary elections.  This was enclosed in a statement published on Wednesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary Barr. Felix Morka.

He said the adjustment by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC is as followed:

People’s Democratic Party (PDP)

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has also brought in an adjustment in its timetable for the conduct of the primaries, ahead of the 2023 general elections.

In a memo jointly signed by the National Chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu, and the National Secretary, Chris Anyanwu, the party announced it is compelled to shift dates for its activities due to “unforeseen circumstances.”
