This information was made public on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, by Nigeria’s Minister of Interior Affairs, Rauf Aregbesola. In an official statement released by Mohammed Manga, the Ministry’s Director of Press, Aregbesola charged Nigerian Christians to emulate attributes demonstrated by Jesus Christ during his time on earth such as love, forgiveness, forbearance, humility, kindness, patience, and peace. He went further to urge Christians to use the avenue created by Easter to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation.

The Minister went further to address the state of the nation as Nigerians need assurance of their safety amidst the celebrations, noting that the government is committed to dealing with the recent spate of armed banditry, kidnapping, and other crimes perpetrated by criminals in the country.
