The appointment takes effect from the 11th of August, 2020.’ Boss MustaphaAmokachi’s new role will see him advise President Buhari on all matters relating to sports in the country. Popular among his fans as ‘Da Bull,’ the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner was named Nigerian football ambassador earlier this year, a ceremonial role which is meant to see him mentor young footballers in the country towards working hard and having a successful football career.

‘Da Bull’ who started his football career in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria with Ranchers Bees Football Club, went further to ply his trade beyond the borders of Africa by featuring from Belgium Jupiler league side, Club Brugge, Besiktas of Tukey in the Super Lig, Everton FC of England, and Colorado Rapids. It will be recalled that Amokachi on three occasions was voted the third-best player in Africa. The former Super Eagles assistant coach represented Nigeria in three FIFA World Cup finals, won the African Cup of Nations twice as a player and assistant coach with the Super Eagles.
