Focusing on Agriculture and Technology, Crenov8 Consulting, a leading Management Consulting and Digital Firm in Dubai is set to host the agribusiness gathering – Meet the Farmers’ Conference (MTFC) on the 27th and 28th of November in Dubai. Now in its third edition, the conference is a first of its kind Agro-trade and networking conference connecting Africa and the Middle East. Our aim is to connect large scale Agro commodity producers to buyers alike. Stakeholders from Africa and the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) will come together during the 2-day event to network, collaborate, and form sustainable business partnerships across borders.
”Meet the Farmers Conference” will hold in Dubai, UAE and will feature media events across 12 African countries viz Nigeria, Ghana, Cote D’ivoire, Cameroon, Rwanda, Kenya, Namibia, Ethiopia, South Africa, Angola, Congo DRC and others from the Middle East – Kuwait, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India and the UAE.
For Crenov8, the goal is to establish and strengthen the international trade ties that exist between Africa and the GCC through agriculture– utilizing the unique positioning of Dubai as a hub.
After 2 years of making a substantial difference underlined through our theme ‘’The Future of Agribusiness’’, the conference continues to push the borders of agro-trade activities, export promotion and technology innovation in agriculture across Africa.
Announcing the theme for this year’s conference; Crenov8 Consulting, the official organizers of the conference, highlighted the impact of food security on the growing world population and the need for increased trade activities and technology innovation across the agribusiness landscape. ”Our theme this year is – ‘Creating a Sustainable Future’ and it is anchored on our big vision to sustain Agriculture and food production by facilitating trade and promoting technology use in Agriculture. With the MTFC platform, large and small-scale farmers can tap into the $100billion market in Dubai- that’s why we are partnering with relevant stakeholders across both public and private sectors to help us aggregate farmers to export Agric produce to the UAE and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Council”.
This year’s conference, like the subsequent ones would have the full patronage and support of the Ministry of Economy, UAE and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
We have also new partners to the MTFC Global Project; Gracia Farms; the largest hydroponics farm in the UAE supporting this initiative as a way of adding value to the AgricTech aspect and Ethiopian Airlines, the ‘Official Airline Carrier’ of the Conference, positioning it as the ‘Go-to’ airline for agribusiness stakeholders attending MTFC 2019.
The conference aims to provide a platform for African Agro Producers to meet top buyers and investors from Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the GCC for trade opportunities and exchange of knowledge to promote innovation in the Agriculture sector. Most importantly, African farmers, participants, exhibitors, and delegates at this event will be able to leverage on the business
opportunities available to them in Dubai and other GCC countries. Also, participants will be able to gain insights into a wide range of topics such as Agro commodity trading in Dubai and the GCC, imports and exports requirements, laws and policies, financing, shipping, insurance etc.
Using Dubai as a hub, the GCC will now be able to enjoy the rich crops from the tropics of Africa, while the African countries will also experience a major boost in agro-trade. We are glad to be part of the African economic revolution; pushing the frontiers of food production and cross-border trade of Agriculture between Africa and the UAE through Meet the Farmers Conference.
At our 2018 conference, these key stakeholders emphasised the importance of the initiative; Abdul Rahman Al Hosani- Director of Export Services (Dubai Export) ‘Africa is a very important market especially for Dubai and UAE and the GCC Market’. H.E Juma Al Kait -Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs-Ministry of Economy – -‘We need to capture the technology element now in the Agricultural sector in Africa, this is what they need’
Omar Khan – Head of International Affairs (Dubai Chamber of Commerce-UAE)-‘The Meet the Farmers Conference is a connecting platfrom to bridge the gap between the Agricultural industry, the business industry and the gap in the logistics sector.’
According to Mark Olorundare, General Manager; Crenov8 DMCC, ‘’This year, the conference places particular focus on translated trade deals and looks to promote the export of Agricultural produce from different African countries to the UAE and the rest of the Gulf Cooperation Countries, promote the industrialization of Agribusinesses in Africa and to drive direct strategic foreign direct investment (FDI) from the GCC states to Africa. We were able to broker a number of export deals from last year but we intend to do much more this year and leverage on technology as well’’.
As part of the MTFC initiative, Crenov8 is also looking to support Agri Technology Entrepreneurship in Africa through the ’Innov8Agric Challenge’. This is a competition that looks to promote innovative enterprises that focus on agriculture and help them improve their business operations while providing a platform to showcase their ideas. Selected businesses will have the opportunity to exhibit and participate in the regional media events. As an incentive, winners from each region will battle for the USD 5,000 grand prize and will be given the opportunity to exhibit at the MTFC Finale, as well as follow-on funding and investment opportunities. They will also have access to a high worth pool of investors and potential customers at the conference. Interested entrepreneurs can apply via: http://mtfc.crenov8.com/innov8-agric.
