Some people complain that they do not see the value of attending a fair, while a majority of our feedback swore that the Connect Nigeria
eBusiness fair changed their business for the better. It’s all about the follow-up.
After the fair, we would go back to our offices, sit at our desks and stare at our phones, while waiting for all the leads to start calling in. Wrong. Your efforts toward the
fair are not over, in fact, they are just beginning. The days after, are the most critical in keeping the energy going.
Here are the major things to do after the #CNBIZFAIR, in order to see a major difference:
-
Add Prospects To Your Database Immediately
Gather all your prospects, and get them organized in your
database immediately. Whether you took the contacts on your phones, business cards, notepads, this is very important. Make sure you label them as “eBusiness fair attendee”. That way when you follow up, it is easy to remember where the connection happened. It would also make it easier for your prospects to remember you.
-
Send An Email To Your Prospects Within A Few Days Of The #CNBIZFAIR
Create a personalized correspondence to the leads you met at the
fair. Make sure you include:
- A call to action. Such as asking them to visit your store or social media page.
- Questions that encourage them to engage.
- Ask them for feedbacks, regarding your services at the fair, or what they would like you to offer them.
- Include a photo of you/your booth/your team at the fair. It’ll remind them easily, who you are.
-
Call The Top Leads.
Talking voice-to-voice is always better, and it’s easier to foster a relationship that way. It might not be financially convenient to call everyone, so try to focus on the topmost leads.
-
Connect Via Social Media
Grow your relationship with your leads using social media. Like their posts, comment on them, and reach out to them. It’ll make it easier for you to grow on them. Don’t be creepy, by becoming a stalker; be cordial about it, please.
-
Ask For Referrals
Ask your leads for referrals but without being too aggressive; you don’t want to offend your prospects, and ruin your young relationship. Politely ask if they know anyone, who could benefit from your services/products as well, and ask if they would be kind to refer them to you.
-
Address Any Questions Posed By Your Booth Visitors.
If you got a lot of questions regarding your services, why not write about it on your social media page, or on your website, if your company has one. You could make series of posts out of it, and even send it out in your newsletter.
- Evaluate
Review your performance at the fair. How many leads did you get? How many of them turned to customers? Did you reach your goals for the fair? These statistics are very important to document because they help you make the decision about attending the next #CNBIZFAIR.
