Chiamaka Nnadozie Wins Goalkeeping Revelation Award In France

The Nigerian goalkeeper has been outstanding between the sticks for club and country.

Nigerian women’s senior national team goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the winner of the Bruno Martini Award for Goalkeeping Revelation of the Season in French women’s football. The Super Falcons of Nigeria shot-stopper beat the likes of Stade de Reims first-choice goalkeeper Emily Alvarado and Colette Morche of Issy GPS to win the prestigious prize.

The Goalkeeping Revelation award is voted for by other professional goalkeepers, goalkeeper coaches, and goalkeeper coaches’ association members. An excited Nnadozie took to Twitter to celebrate the award which meant recognition by the AEGB, and thanked her club, Paris FV.

the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations winner posted.

The award was the Nigerian shot-stopper’s second nomination. Chiamaka Nnadozie, 21, was also listed as one of the top five goalkeepers in the French Women’s League by UNFP, the organisers of Ligue 1. However, she missed out on being named the best goalkeeper in the league.

As preparations for the 2023 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations continue, Nnadozie is expected to be part of the party as she was handed an invitation by coach Randy Waldrum as one of the 32 players to hit the camp of the eleven-time African champions.
