In a bid to grow Nigeria’s capital market, Nigeria’s Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS) will partner with the management of African Development Bank (AfDB).
This was announced by the Institute’s acting President, Mr. Oluwaseyi Abe who said that under this new plan, the two institutions will make certain the viability of Nigeria’s commodities market and listing of Agro-Allied companies to encourage productivity in agriculture which is according to the plan of the federal government to spread income base by shifting the attention from oil.
He mentioned that the two institutions have many things in common such as the areas of target for Nigeria’s capital market. Other areas of partnership will include linking power-related institutions to access capital through relevant market platforms and partnership with CIS for empowerment on its Diploma programme to create employment and support the financial inclusion programme of the federal government especially for rural communities.
