At the turn of every New Year, people all over the world take stock and re-examine their lives, celebrities and socialites included. Odu Black went to town and returned with New Year resolutions from those in the world of entertainment.
ORITSE FEMI, MUSICIAN: Well, to ensure all the packages I have positioned for my people get to them and I will like to use the medium to encourage my youths to shun violence and stay focused because that is the only way they will make money.
TIMI DAKOLO, MUSICIAN: My New Year resolution is pretty simple, to stop working harder and start working smarter and get closer to God.
BRYMO, MUSICIAN: To keep striving against the mediocrity in the music industry. Secondly, to work first and let success find me.
OJB JEZREEL, MUSIC PRODUCER: My New Year resolution is to stay focused and do what I have been known for. You know as an entertainer we also get carried away with showing off so I want to do less of that. I want to keep it really simple. And the most important thing is to ensure my album is released by 2015.
EFE OMOREGBE, ARTIST RELATIONS MANAGER: I want to pay a bit more attention to myself. For years I have been caring for others except me so in 2015 I will pay attention to me.
ESSENCE, SINGER: I don’t do that at all, but if I were to make one, I will say to make more money.
ALARIWO OF AFRICA,SINGER: I want to get closer to God, a lot of people are singing rubbish and making money but I will never join the bandwagon. In terms of work, there will be an album next year.
SHOLA FAJOBI, SHOWBIZ ENTERPRENEUR: One New Year resolution I don’t want to make is about my smoking habits because I have not been able to keep to it for over ten years. But I know it has to do with will power and I pray God help me with all my desires this year.
KCEE, SINGER- Truthfully, I don’t like lying to myself that is why my new year resolution is to make sure I am more focused in the coming year. I will not lie to you I was very distracted in 2014. So majorly my desire and wish is for God to grant me focus in the coming year.
SHADE OMONIYI aka LEPA SHANDY, ACTRESS: I am not usually a fan of New Year resolutions but in 2015, my wish is for me to be a better wife and mother.. I also desire being closer to God.
