Leading the endorsement drive is Bolanle Ninalowo, (AKA Nino B) Nollywood’s newest rave and talented actor. Speaking about his support for the event, he said through his Instagram page that “Ever before I became an actor and a public figure, I have always projected Nigerian fashion and culture as I travel across the world. I am still doing so and remain committed to Made in Nigeria brands and products. If we all do our bits here and there, nothing shall be impossible to those of us who believe in Nigeria.” Other Nollywood actors who endorsed the event include notable actors like Femi Branch and Funke Adesiyan amongst others. Babafemi Branch, through his Instagram Handle, stated that “ To patronise made in Nigeria is the real test of patriotism right now.  The money in your pocket cannot be for the empowerment of foreign brands ahead of ours. If you buy Nigerian products, you are helping to build our country. ” Also speaking on the event through their Instagram and facebook pages are: Abbey Abuede, known popularly as SEXYSTEEL, Kola Aina , MD of Platform Ventures, Seyi Adekunle of Vodi Tailors, Bolaji Okusaga, Managing Director of Precise , Charles O’Tudor of Adstrat Consurtium, Sulaiman Aledeh of Aledeh.com, Olusola Teniola , President of Association of Telecoms Owners of Nigeria,-ATCON, Adeniyi Ojukutu , President of Computers and Allied Dealers Association of Nigeria-CAPDAN, Patricia Omoqui of Patricia Omoqui Enterprises-USA,  Babatunde Amodu of Zmodem Infrastructure International Limited, Asiwaju Morenikeji Aniye of Hotspots Networks Limited, Lara Wise, Billionaire Industrialist and Business Titan, Alhaji Adetunji Muritala Adebayo OFR , among others too numerous to mention. The National Coordinator of the events, Adegboyega Ojuolape and his partner, Ogedengbe Ayo Moses stated that the event is coming against the backdrop of the call on Nigerians to help Nigerian companies succeed through a concept they called Patriotic Buying. According to Adegboyega, “ the need is more than ever before, very critical to the nation’s prosperity and survival. No company can succeed without its entrepreneurs, innovators and inventors making a success of their products and services. If Nigeria is to succeed, made in Nigeria must succeed. It cannot succeed if Nigerians are busy taking pleasure in acquiring foreign goods and services where their Nigerian competitions are neglected. It is nothing but a ceremonial suicide to pleasure in foreign goods and acquisitions.” Ayo-Moses further stated that the choice of Lagos state as the next host of the event amongst other states of the federation is based on the fact that Lagos is the commercial hub of West Africa and the marketplace of all Nigerian businesses. “We had the first event in Abuja to honour the universality of Nigerians as the capital city and as a mark of respect for the town. Having achieved good success there and our aims achieved, we decided it is time to take it to the stage of commerce. No Nigerian corporation, as you already know, can ignore the population, the buying power and the cosmopolitan composition of the state. If you want to test the efficacy and viability of any product Nigeria and even Africa at large, Lagos is the place to go. We have the support of the good people at Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS),  Lagos State Advertising and Signage Agency (LASA), The Ministry of Commerce, Industry Trades and Cooperatives, as well as that of the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF), where a great job is being done to help citizens get employed and also move into entrepreneurship. The Lagos State Park and Gardens Agency (LASPARK) is also showing wonderful understanding as we move on to deliver on the Lagos 2018 edition. The Lagos edition of Nigerian Brands Carnival and trades exhibition is slated to commence on March 26th, 2018 with a conference tagged 2ND MADE IN NIGERIA BRANDS (MAIN 2 ) and the exhibition and carnival to commence on March 29th, 2018 at the newly constructed Johnson Jakande Tinubu Park, Alausa, Ikeja-Lagos.
