For the past five weeks, Nigeria has been on lockdown; Lagos state, Ogun state, and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja were on total Lockdown, while other states in Nigeria experienced partial lockdown. To virtually everyone in Nigeria, this is unprecedented, as the wave of the Corona Virus Pandemic swept across the country.

On the 27th of April, 2020, the president of the federal republic of Nigeria, president Muhammadu Buhari, in a public address stated that the total lockdown that up to this moment was imposed on Lagos state, Ogun state, and the FCT, will be eased from the 4th of May, 2020.
He said:
Based on the above and in line with the recommendations of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, the various Federal Government committees that have reviewed socio-economic matters and the Nigeria Governors Forum, I have approved a phased and gradual easing of lockdown measures in FCT, Lagos and Ogun States effective from Monday, 4th May, 2020.

Before the lockdown is eased, we would like to share with you images of what Lagos looked like throughout the period of the total lockdown.
