Following its successful launching of Etisalat to 9mobile, 9mobile has changed the name of the Pan African Literary Prize for Literature to 9mobile prize for Literature. The brand is still very much committed to supporting and discovering new talent.
Announcing this is its Chief Executive Officer, Boye Olusanya who believes that the brand, 9mobile, is very proud in its promotion of creativity and innovation among Nigerians as they continue to offer a platform that would help African writers tell authentic African stories.
This award is the first ever pan African prize revelling first-time African writers with already published fiction books
Following the completion of the 2017 series in May, there is a call for entries for 2018 9mobile Prize For Literature. It is open to all interested applicants and its deadline is on 18 September 2017. Submissions would be accepted only from publishing houses. However, writers who have published works within the last 24 months of submission, are allowed to submit 7 copies of the fiction book, with an agreement to the publicity terms by the organizers while the publishing houses are allowed to submit a minimum of 3 authors and 3 books.
The winner receives £15,000, an engraved Montblanc Meisterstück pen, and a 9mobile-sponsored fellowship at the University of East Anglia, where he or she will be mentored by Professor Giles Foden, author of The Last King of Scotland’.
