Nigerian league giants, Enyimba FC of Aba, boosted their chances of qualifying for the quarter-final stage of the CAF Confederations Cup after beating Algerian side, Paradou, 4-1 at Aba on Sunday, January 12, 2019.
A Stanley Dimgba hat trick and a solo effort from Victor Mbaoma was what the hosts needed to give themselves a chance towards making it to the knockout rounds after a 1-0 away loss in the first leg of the encounter.

Ruben Bala’s corner kick was met with a brilliant header from Dimgba to gift the Peoples Elephant the lead after just 15 minutes of play at the Enyimba International Stadium on Sunday. Dimgba would go ahead to provide the assist for Mbaoma’s goal in the 35th minute, before scoring his second for the evening a minute later to ensure the hosts went into the break on a comfortable 3-0 lead.
The Fatai Osho managed side continued their excellent display at the turn of the break, which saw Mbaoma close to making it 4-0 for the hosts but his effort hit the woodwork. Dimgba, who commanded a man-of-the-match performance, completed his hat trick in the 77th minute to end the hopes of a comeback for the North Africans. Abdelhak Kadri’s goal in the 89th minute meant the visitors got a consolation goal in the game, which ended 4-1.

Elsewhere, Rangers International of Enugu played out a 1-1 draw against Mauritanian visitors, Nouadibhou, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Stadium, which means the Flying Antelopes have a slim chance of making it out of their group.
