Head coach of the Nigerian national U23 team, the Olympic Eagles, Imama Amapakabo, has expressed optimism towards the team’s chances of making a positive impact at the 2019 CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations, which is scheduled to hold in Egypt from today, November 8, 2019 until 22nd November, 2019.
Defending champions, Nigeria, will begin their title defense on Saturday, November 9, when they confront Cote d’Ivoire at the Al Salam Stadium.
We have players in camp here who are ready to give their all and do Nigeria proud any day, any time. We are quietly confident, and will take it one match at a time. We are quite aware that as defending champions, so much is expected of us. This team will throw everything into the battle and ensure it does not disappoint Nigerians

The Nigerian team is a blend of home-based and foreign-based professionals and will look towards defending the title they won four years ago, and will also strive to pick a ticket for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games in Japan.
