Nigeria’s representatives at the CAF Confederations Cup, Enyimba FC of Aba and Enugu Rangers, have made it to the group stage of the continental competition.
Enyimba qualified in style with a 4-1 aggregate victory over their South African opponents, TS Galaxy, while Rangers held on to a 1-0 lead at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday, November 3, 2019 to seal a spot in the group stage of the competition through the away goals rule after a 2-2 aggregate finish over two legs against their Togolese opponents, ASC KARA. The Peoples Elephants (Enyimba), last weekend in Aba, put themselves in a favourable position towards qualification with a 2-0 win over the Rockets.

Enyimba
Daniel Darkwah broke the deadlock in Sunday’s (November 3, 2019) encounter for the Aba-based side in the 76th minute to put the aggregate score at 3-0. Martins Usule would extend the visitors lead in the 84th minute to put the aggregate score at 4-0. TS Galaxy pulled one back in the latter stages of the game but it was not enough to seal them a spot in the group stages. The game ended 2-1, leaving the aggregate score at 4-1 for the Nigerian Professional Football League Champions.
Rangers
For the Flying Antelopes (Rangers), a 2-1 loss in Togo last week meant they needed a 1-0 advantage to advance on away goals rule. Chinonso Eziekwe’s goal in the 18th minute of the tie was all the Rangers needed to make it to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
