Nigeria’s premiere content market, C3 Africa, is holding an exclusive networking event in Lagos to announce its content markets across Africa for 2018 – 2019. The event is expected to feature sessions in which the secrets to succeeding in the emerging industry will be unveiled.
Programme details are as follows:
Obi Asika, Founder, Social Media Week will deliver the opening speech “Welcome to Nollywood”, while the Key Note address titled “African Content by Africa” will be done by Sam Onyemelukwe, Head, Anglophone West Africa, Trace TV. Mr Onyemelukwe will be sharing his personal journey, life hacks and growth as an entertainment industry business leader. He will also be speaking extensively on African made global content, distribution, regulation and piracy.
The first panel session with the theme “Content is Queen” will feature veteran women in the film and TV business, including Chioma Ude – Founder and Director, Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF); Biola Alabi – CEO, Biola Alabi Media (BAM); and Ngozi Madueke Dozie – MD, IFLIX (a subscription video on demand service). They will be tackling hard topics, sharing their vision for the industry, and also speaking on the bright and dark sides of the exponentially expanding industry.
Focusing on young women in the film and TV industry will be the second session themed “Women Behind the Scenes”. Temidayo Abudu – Head of Production, Ebony Life; Lolu Popoola – Head Marketing, FilmOne; Mariella Mostyn-Williams – CEO, Prima Vista (England / Ghana); and Jade Osiberu – Director, ISOKEN will sit on the panel to discuss their experiences, success stories and their view of the future of the emerging industry alongside new projects.
There will also be a press conference/meet with the cast and director of Lara & The Beat; the new sensational movie from Biola Alabi Media. The cast expected will include Seyi Shay, Vector Tha Viper, Uche Jombo, Somkele Inyamah, Chioma Chukwuka and Bimbo Manuel.
The C3 AFRICA event will close with comedy from comedian and actor Hafeez Oyetoro who will also give a narration on the growth of the industry, while also announcing the G.O.A.T.s (Greatest of All Time) of the film industry both before and behind the camera.
The event is scheduled for this weekend 20th July 2018 at Ember Creek, Landmark Tower, Victoria Island, Lagos.
