The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Mohammed Buhari is present in Lagos to commission world-class Ikeja Bus Terminal. The Ultra-modern Ikeja Bus Terminal is positioned close to the domestic wing and MM2 airport in Ikeja.
The Lagos State Government has thus declared today Thursday, 29th March 2018, as a public holiday to enable Lagosians to come out amass to welcome the Presidential first-ever visit since his induction that would last for two days.
The Bus Terminal to be commissioned would help grant Lagosians access to a cheap and convenient mode of transportation, according to the state government, as it would have the capacity of transporting over 70,000 passengers across the diverse parts of the State daily, in line with the government’s agenda to transform Lagos state into a mega city.
Developed by an indigenous company Planet Projects, the facility is indeed the first of its kind in West Africa with 500 newly built air-conditioned buses. Facilities at the terminal include internet wifi, ability to track the departure and arrival of every bus, automated payment systems, and other hi-tech facilities.
The President would also celebrate with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his birthday event which would be held at Eko Hotel and Suites.
He is also expected to flag off the construction of the Lekki Deep Sea Port, located in the Lekki Free Trade Zone.
Buhari will also inspect the Eko Atlantic City Project on the land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean.
