Boxing: Efe Ajagba Wins Boxing Match in 1 Second

Efe Ajagba

Nigerian boxer Efe Ajagba won his sixth consecutive professional boxing match within the 1st second of the first round against American boxer, Curtis Harper.

Both boxers looked ready to fight for the next six rounds in the Friday night encounter in Minneapolis. However, at the opening bell, Harper walked out on the bout, leaving Efe and fans stunned.

Efe, who still looked quite baffled at his heavyweight opponent’s extreme move was immediately declared the winner by default via disqualification.

Harper supposedly revealed that the reason he stormed out of the ring was that he wasn’t getting the respect he deserved, coupled with the fact that he didn’t get enough pay to fight Efe.

Efe’s promoter Richard Schaefer, however, described Harper as a coward who was too scared to face the Nigerian; he had to run away with his tail between his legs.

We waited a long time to have another heavyweight who instils fear in his opponents by just being in the ring and looking at them. The last time a fighter instilled that kind of fear in an opponent was Mike Tyson. The heavyweight division has a new star and his name is Efe,” Richard said while singing Efe’s praises to fans.

On social media, trainer Nate Campbell posted that his fighter did not just embarrass himself on an international stage, but “this man disrespected himself, his wife, the fans and me.

Harper currently holds a record of six defeats and 13 wins, while the 24-year-old Nigerian has six wins (5 KOs) from six fights.
