For any woman who lives in Lagos and loves looking beautiful, award-winning blog, Beauty in Lagos is a real find! Whereas the norm is for women to hide their beauty secrets from others (whom they apparently consider to be the competition), this blogger dedicates quality time and precious energy to making sure that her beloved followers know what to look for and where to find it when it comes to looking pretty!
Run by Ez, a self-described “part-time model, full-time 9-5er and TOTAL BEAUTY PRODUCT JUNKIE”, this blog offers tips and information on everything you need to take care of your God-given assets – from skin care and makeup, to nails and hair!
Upon her return to Lagos from London, Ez was extremely frustrated to find that women in this country were not willing to share their beauty-tips/havens/secrets. And she just had to indulge in all her beauty rituals she had become so accustomed to abroad. What to do?
She started off by seeking out the best spas, beauty-salons and beauty-stores that Lagos had to offer. Success greeted her determination! In her own words, “I discovered that ANYTHING can be found in Lagos, you just have to know someone, that knows someone and I am delighted to be your ‘Someone’!” What a heart!
After weeks and months of answering questions her friends had about where to get their hair done or their brows threaded, she realized that everyone always came to her for beauty-related answers, so she decided to start her own blog. The “Lady’s Guide to all Things Girly in the City of Lagos” was an instant hit!
The tons of photos available on this blog are a beauty lover’s delight! Also heart-warming are the detailed notes and descriptions- she even includes prices! For instance, below the amazing photos posted every week on Manicure Monday, helpful notes like this can be found:

According to her, “there is love in sharing, and just because somebody goes to the same beautician you go to, shouldn’t be a threat at all.”
How many newcomers to Lagos (and even long time residents) have blessed the day Ez decided to break the‘cycle of secrecy’in Lagos? We many never know exactly, but we got a fairly good idea when in 2012 – the very year the blog started- they testified by voting for their beloved blog in their numbers. Beauty in Lagos emerged Beauty Blog of The Year- Popular Vote- in the Nigeria Blog Awards 2012. Its success is proof that a candle does not lose its flame by lighting up another.
