Nigerian ace forward and three-time CAF Women’s Player of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, has completed a loan move to FC Barcelona.
Oshoala joined Barcelona’s female team on a season-long loan from her Chinese club, Dalian Quanjian F.C.
The 24-year-old clearly could not hold in her excitement as she shared the big news with fans on twitter.
According to FCB’s official website, the Nigerian arrived in Barcelona on Thursday morning and underwent the routine medical checkup. She was then led to the president’s office at Camp Nou, where she signed her contract in the company of the director of Barcelona’s women division, Maria Teixidor, and the sports manager, Markel Zubizarreta.
Oshoala, who was thrilled to have made the move to the Spanish topflight, said this is a huge opportunity for her to play alongside some of the best players in the female division.
“This is obviously one of the best clubs in the world. The team has a great history and wonderful football mentality.
“I am excited about playing with Vicky Losada again. She’s a great midfielder, with a lot of energy and skill. I also met Fabiana in China and she helped me to make this decision.
“My goal is to strengthen the team and help them to win and make history. This is a fantastic opportunity because I’m sure something big will happen here”
