Nigerian table tennis top-gun, Aruna Quadri, has won his 18th League title since he moved to Portugal in 2010.
The Nigerian, who is currently on the books for Sporting CP, helped the Lisbon team defeat CD São Roque 3-0 in the second leg of the play-off final staged at the Estadio Multiusos Pavilion José Alvalade in Lisbon.
Indomitable
Quadri took his game to the next level in 2015 after he joined Sporting from former club, GD Toledos, where he won nine titles in four seasons, and has since remained unbeaten, winning all three titles per season for Sporting.
It was more of a show of dominance for the Lisbon-based team who had already defeated CD São Roque 3-1 in the first leg of there match which took place in Funchal, so fans turned-out in their numbers to basically watch Sporting pick up the title for the 35th time in their history in the Portuguese Division One of Men’s National League.
The 32 year old, who is also a member of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, is currently occupying the 27th position in the International Table Tennis Federation male World ranking.
