The World Bank Group (WBG) invites Africans who are completing or have completed a PhD program (in a discipline that’s relevant to the group’s work) to apply for its Africa Fellowship Program.
Through this program, the World Bank and its sister organizations aim to strengthen the skills of Africa’s next policymakers and development specialists. The ultimate goal is to develop their capacity to bring about positive change in the economies of countries on the continent.
Fellows will undertake a six-month assignment at the World Bank Group, and gain practical experience working with its component institutions. They will take on tasks in research, economic policy, lending, and technical assistance. Through these roles, they will contribute to the WBG’s aim of alleviating poverty in developing nations.
Note: The program will take place either at the WBG offices in Washington DC or in its country offices. It will host up to 15 fellows, with an additional 10 fellows working on private sector development and finance.
