The core objective of the Lagos State Digital Scholarship program is to enhance the job skills and employment opportunities of youth in Lagos State in the sectors of business support and information technology. 8thGear covers costs of training for selected applicants, such as tuition, training expenses, and allowances for placement. Funds are also allocated for administrative fees, and provision is made for staff training on financial management and grant procedures.

To be eligible for the program
- The applicant must be a resident of Lagos State with a LASRRA ID.
- The applicant must have a valid Tax Identification Number (TIN).
- The applicant must have a minimum academic SSCE qualification.
- The applicant must be aged between 18 and 35 years.
- The applicant must be committed to attending the 10-week training.
- The applicant must have basic computing knowledge and access to a device for home practice.
- The applicant must also be available for training and an internship for the next 6–9 months.
