Apply For the Agri-SME Seed Lab Program for Africans

Small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector can apply for the Agri-SME Seed Lab Program. An initiative of the African Development Bank’s Agri-Food SME Catalytic Financing Mechanism’s (ACFM) Technical Assistance Window. This was delivered through Open Capital’s Agri-SME Support Program. The Agri-SME Seed Lab Program aims to equip SMEs in the agricultural sector with essential skills in business operations, strategic planning, financial management, and leadership to boost sustainable growth and high-level impact.

To be eligible for the Seed Lab program:

Your SME must be based in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya or Uganda.
Your business must be in the agricultural sector with a major focus on food value chains and aiding ecosystem players such as agricultural producers, agri-tech businesses, processors, input and equipment providers, marketplaces, and more.
2023 annual revenues: US $100,000-$500,000
Number of full-time employees: 5-50

Capital raise target: US $50,000-$750,000
Gender and climate integration: Prioritization will be given to SMEs with integrated gender-inclusive and climate-resilient practices.
More so, the program is a comprehensive and tailored curriculum curated for SMEs in the agricultural industry and follows their venture from the developing business model to the scaling level and improving external capital.
