The program is a strategy to provide support and funding to innovators who are talented and passionate about advancement in technology and are health-oriented in the areas of epidemiology study support systems, digitized disease monitoring and tracking systems, and the use of real-world data to improve the impact of healthcare in Africa.

To be eligible for the program:
- Applicants must be African citizens or studying or working in an African organization.
- The program is open to participants with solutions at different stages of development.
- Teams applying must consist of at least two and at most five members.
- Applying teams must have a technically skilled member (for example, a software developer, a data scientist, or an AI engineer).
- Teams applying should endeavour to have a member who is a healthcare domain expert (e.g., public health professionals, doctors, or nurses).
- Proposals submitted must be focused on the development of innovative digital epidemiology solutions built to address specific public health challenges in the context of Africa.
- Projects submitted must leverage technology and/or AI solutions to fix specific healthcare challenges.
- Solutions must be scalable and have a strong potential for widespread adoption.
- Projects must have the capacity to make a significant positive impact on healthcare delivery, accessibility, or affordability.
- Startups and early-stage ventures are eligible to apply.
