After months of deliberations and rumors concerning who the unified heavyweight champion, Anthony Joshua, will go against next, we finally have a name and a face for the Nigerian-Brit’s next challenger.

Joshua announced on YouTube that he will be making his US Debut against Jarrell Miller on June 1, at the Madison Square Garden.

Joshua’s visit to the arena of champions will be a monumental bout for the Nigerian who would be staking all his belts as he tries to put an end to the American showstopper.

Just like legends before him such as Lennox Lewis, Joe Louis, Evander Holyfield, Joe Frazier, and Muhammad Ali, Joshua will be fighting to retain his place as the face of world heavyweight boxing when he faces Big Baby Miller at the ‘The Mecca of Boxing’.

Miller staked his claim to a fight with Joshua during the champion’s heavyweight fight press conference with Alexander Povetkin, who Joshua won in their September 22, fight to extend his professional unbeaten record to 22 victories with 21 knockouts.

Now Joshua will travel across the Atlantic to defend his WBA ‘super’, IBF, and WBO belts against Brooklyn’s undefeated Miller.

June 1st, I am heading to ‘The Big Apple’ and I plan to embrace the culture and leave with an appetite for more. I will be fighting Jarrell Miller at the legendary Madison Square Garden.

It has been an honour and a blessing to fight at some of the best venues in the world at home in the UK, not least Wembley Stadium, but the time has come to head across the Atlantic and defend my heavyweight titles in the USA.

The Nigerian-Brit who referred to Miller as a brilliant talker, says he plans to dismantle the American and make his mark in the US in style.
