Ankara is everywhere in Nigeria, but many of us are not aware of the various things we can make with it. Did you know you could use Ankara to make a wall clock– a one of kind home décor that would stand out in your home.
The Ankara Wall clock has a unique look, and you don’t have to worry about getting the materials you need. Clock mechanisms are usually easy to find and install. You can use any Ankara fabric you want, and you can always remove it to wash or replace whenever you want.
Materials
A pair of scissors.
Clock mechanism (buy at local wall clock repair shops or shopping malls).
A Round clock base, (you can get from a local repairman or just use an old wall clock).
A Mod Podge or any other fabric glue.
Foam brush.
Fabric (Ankara).

Procedure:
To create An Ankara Wall Clock:
Trace out the edge of the clock base onto the backside of your Ankara fabric.
Gradually cut it out, leave few inches so that you can cut the circle shape out carefully.
Brush your glue, preferably Mod Podge, on the top of the clock.
Now gently place your Ankara fabric on top of the glued surface.
Using a very sharp scissors make a place at the center for the clock hands to go into, trim the fabric at the center for this to work.
In case you notice the Ankara fraying at the edges, add a little of the fabric glue to keep it.
Place the hands in the center of the clock.

To Recycle a Boring Wall Clock to an Ankara Wall Clock
Dismantle the pieces of your wall clock carefully, the hands and the clock base among other things.
Brush glue on the wrong side of the fabric.
Carefully wrap your Ankara fabric as you mount it on the clock base.
Paint the sides with color to cover an ugly spot on the clock base.
Let it dry.
Replace the clock rim and glue any remaining parts in place.
