Their project, M-Tag VR, lets users explore famous landmarks like Zuma Rock and learn about Nigerian tribes’ cultures. The winning team includes Immaculate Ikegwuonu, Camilla Anyadike, and Nweke-Nonso Oluchi, guided by their coach, John Onuigbo. They beat teams from all 36 states of Nigeria. Starting at the state level, they won the Anambra State competition. Then they moved to the South-Eastern regional championship, defeating teams from Ebonyi, Imo, Abia, and Enugu states. This led them to the national finals. Their exceptional project and skills impressed the judges. They triumphed over strong contenders from all six geopolitical zones. Rivers and Lagos states secured the second and third places.

One of the girls, Immaculate Ikegwuonu, expressed excitement and gratitude. She said,
“We are so grateful for this opportunity! Thanks to our school which motivates us to pursue careers in ICT. Through this win, we hope to inspire other girls to do the same.”The Director of St. John Vianney Science College, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma, shared their joy. He said,
“This national championship is a monumental achievement for our school and a source of immense pride. It exemplifies our commitment to empowering young women in STEM fields.”
“As a science college, we understand the impact of technology and empower students to use it as a force for good. Hence, this win isn’t coming as a surprise. It’s the result of years of hard work.”

The Operations Lead of Kodex Africa, Idika Ukpai, explained how the competition is facilitated through implementing hubs in each state. They provide logistical support and ensure a smooth competition process. Kodex Africa supported the Anambra State team.
