Ahmed Musa Joins Kano Pillars

  Nigerian national team captain, Ahmed Musa, has joined Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Kano Pillars, until the end of the 2020/2021 league season.

The former Leicester City of England man has been without a club for over five months after parting ways with Saudi Arabia Professional League side, Al Nassr, on October 25, 2020. It will be recalled that Musa started his professional career at Kano Pillars, ending the 2009 NPFL season as the highest goal scorer with 18 goals before moving to VVV Venlo of Holland in his first international move. Musa’s new deal has been confirmed by the ‘Sai Masu Gida’ via an official statement on the club’s website:

‘Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa, has sensationally returned to Kano Pillars FC for the remainder of the 2020/21 Nigeria Professional Football League season (NPFL). Musa previously played for the Pride of Kano in 2009 where he ended the season as the top scorer in the Nigeria Professional Football League with 18 goals before moving to VVV-Venlo in the Netherlands.’ Kano Pillars
The statement went further to reveal that Kano Pillars agreed to sign the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner ‘after due consultations with the player and the League Management Company of Nigeria (LMC) who stand as a mediator to the deal.’ Signing Musa is a big boost to Pillars’ quest to win the Nigerian league title as they currently sit second on the league log. Musa is expected to be unveiled by the governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, once all the necessary documentation is finalized.
