The African Cup of Nations (AFCON) begins on the 17th of January and ends on the 8th of February. DSTV announced recently that all AFCON matches will be broadcast live on DStv and GOtv with expert analysis from one of football’s greatest winners, Marcel Desailly, among others.
“AFCON is Africa’s showpiece football event and we are delighted to offer it on various channels and platforms to ensure the channels are the number one destination for AFCON action for viewers across Africa,” said John Ugbe, Managing Director, MultiChoice Nigeria, “We have no doubt we will see football of the highest quality, affirming the talent that abounds on the continent.
A special channel was introduced especially for the AFCON tournament. It is available on the GOtv Plus bouquet and all subscribers of this package will have access to all 32 AFCON live matches.
The GOtv Plus subscribers get to enjoy the upcoming AFCON tournament on channel 35, but in between the match breaks, they’ll also have access to live and delayed local football matches from the Kenya Premier League, Uganda Super League and the Cecafa tournaments along with magazine programmes and football highlights.
Nigeria, unfortunately did not qualify and it is a mystery who will take the cup home as there are many great teams at AFCON this year.
