colour
Changing the colour of your hair can be exciting. A lot of people actually subscribe to the idea of colouring their hair but fear the damage the colour might cause. The idea is to make sure you provide your hair with nourishing ingredients in order to maintain a healthy look and shine. Protect from the heat/ avoid too much use of hair dryers and the likes Excessive use of hair dryers, curling irons and flat irons can take a toll on colour. Limit the damage they cause by using heat protectant products, to help guard against excessive heat and high temperatures. They’ll help your coloured hair stay moisturized and shiny, whatever your preferred heat styling tool. Moisturize your hair Dyed hair needs to stay hydrated, so the key is to keep as much moisture in your hair as possible. Always condition your hair after washing with shampoo.

Overexposing your hair to the sun.

Avoid exposing your hair to the sun for too long. If for any reason you have to stay long hours under the sun, wear a hat to keep your hair colour from fading or lightening.

Drying roughly with a towel.

Scrubbing too hard can fade colour and make the ends look dry.  Instead, gently pat your hair and let it air dry as much as possible.

Rinsing with hot water.

Use water lukewarm or cold in temperature when rinsing. Hot water lifts the outer cuticle layer, which is one of the most common reasons that colour fades. The hotter the water, the quicker the colour loss. Don’t shampoo immediately after you dye your hair This is a very common mistake. Once you’ve coloured your hair, try to wait at least 2 days before you wash your hair again. This will help the colour set in well. Re-colour often, but not too often To ensure your hair stays healthy and strong, I’ll suggest at least 4 weeks in between hair colourings. When you do colour, keep the dye on your roots for the first 20 minutes, then pull the colour through and leave it on for the final 5 minutes to refresh your ends.
