3. Ban on Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act Signed into Law
The prohibition of same sex relationships has been signed into law, thus making it illegal for persons of the same gender to engage in intimate relationships. Though the Act was passed by Nigeria’s parliament last May, it was not signed by the President until January 7.

A few hours ago, Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid and Portugal forward, was announced as the FIFA World Footballer of the Year, finally taking over from Argentine striker Lionel Messi who has dominated the award for four straight years.
