The game which is scheduled to hold by 5 pm (WAT) at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, Freetown, will see the three-time African champions go all out for a win against a Sierra Leonean side determined to book a ticket for their first AFCON in 24 years. After Monday’s training session in Freetown, head coach of the Nigerian national team, Gernot Rohr, sounded optimistic about his boys getting the job done and joining teams like Senegal and Algeria who already booked a spot at the next AFCON.
‘We wanted to secure four points from the two matches to qualify which is still possible. I believe in my team, I think we can do it but it will be difficult like I said before the last match, we saw it in the second half that they have a good team. But we can play very well, we showed it in the first 30 minutes  (in Benin). We want to play like that, playing forward, scoring goals but defending better than we did the last time. We have confidence and Nigerians should believe the players will fight and they will give their best. I think we are ready for this match.’ Gernot Rohr

Vice-Captain of the Super Eagles, William Troost-Ekong sounded confident of a victory after Monday’s training session. Despite the poor playing turf at the Siaka Stevens Stadium, the Watford FC of England defender believes it will not hinder Nigeria from securing a 10 point lead in Group L of the qualifiers.
‘They (Nigerian fans) will see a team that is very hungry to get the win here. We want to qualify as soon as possible and it is up to us to do it tomorrow… We are used to everything, we are Africans we’ve been to Asaba, we’ve been to Benin and Uyo and this pitch is like any other pitch we will get in Africa so it’s no surprise for us, we will be ready to face them.’ William Troost-Ekong
