Having lost a 3 point chance in their 2-2 opener against Madagascar in the 2019 African Cup of Nations, Guinea would be looking forward to defeating the Nigerian team when they meet, to boost their chances of making it into the next round of the continental showdown.
A win for the Super Eagles, however, would secure a place for Nigeria in the knockout stage of the competition.
Guinea Vs Madagascar
The Guineans were all-but defeated in their game against Madagascar, but were saved by a 66th minute spot kick by Bordeaux striker Francois Kamano, giving them the much needed edge to stay in the championship pending their next game results.
Guinea coach, Psul Put, is not pleased with the performance of his team against Madagascar, as it has put more pressure on the players and the technical team.
A favorable position atop the table like Nigeria, would have put his team at rest and in high spirits to dominate their other games, but now they must muster all the strength they can find in other to record a win against Nigeria on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.
“I know I have a big game to play on Wednesday against Nigeria. Today the group that did not start the match against Madagascar trained and the other group worked in the massage room.
“Nigeria is a great team, and it’s up to us to be bigger.’’
