The Technical Director, Nigeria Taekwondo Federation (NTF), Chika Chukwumerije, has said that the federation is on a hunt for fresh new talents at the ongoing 2018 National Sports Festival (NSF), at the National Stadium, Abuja.
Chukwumerije told newsmen at the festival that since Day 1 of the tournament, there have been quite a number of game upsets, with young athletes outmaneuvering well-versed players in various events.
This development, according to the NTF boss, is a huge step in the right direction for sports in the country, and a definite consequence of this would be more skilled representation for Nigeria in international events.
“With the calibre of young athletes being discovered, Nigeria will be one of the countries to look for in continental and international competitions. Their performance also shows that our ranking is good and that we are not doing badly in training.”
