Through this competition, the AfDB and its partners aim to foster a greater focus on sustainable practice within and around the fashion industry on the continent. It intends for businesses in the space to drive the market towards a better relationship with the environment. Enterprises that are already moving in this direction will be rewarded and granted greater exposure and opportunities for growth. The Fashionomics Africa contest is organized in collaboration with the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), BPCM (a strategic consulting and communications agency), Parsons School of Design, the Center for Sustainable Fashion, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
