₦7.5 Million In Scholarships To Be Won In The UBA Foundation 2021 National Essay Competition

The National Essay Competition is an annual contest organized by UBA as part of its educational initiative. The bank intends the contest to inspire a spirit of healthy academic competition among students, and to enhance and demonstrate their ability to communicate ideas in an intellectually sound way. This year’s edition of the competition is UBA’s eleventh. As with previous editions, winners will receive prizes according to their placement at the end of the contest. The prizes amount to ₦7.5 million in scholarships to support the post-secondary education of the top three winners.

How The Competition Will Unfold

The competition will unfold in two stages. In the first stage, applicants will submit a handwritten essay. After the close of applications, the essays will be reviewed by a panel of judges consisting of professors from Nigerian universities. The panel will select 12 finalists from this stage. The second stage of the competition will feature the 12 finalists from stage one. Each of them will write a second supervised essay. The three best essays from this group will be announced overall winners. Applications for the competition remain open until Friday, October 29, 2021.
