Lagos to Unveil First Extreme Sports Course at Teslim Balogun Stadium on Wednesday

The first ever Extreme Sports Course in Nigeria will be commissioned and unveiled on Wednesday, August 20th, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere.
As part of the unveiling, an exhibition of a mini MX Games competition will be put on show by some select Extreme Sports athletes.
The Extreme Sports Course also known as MX Games Arena, is a course that comprises different elements such as half pipes, quarter pipes, Narrow and Wide Speed Bumps, Fun Box, Speed Breakers and High and Low Poles amongst others.
Lagos State Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Social Development, Wahid Enitan Oshodi, is billed to commission the sport with the organizers showing the people a glimpse of what the sport is all about with the inaugural edition of the very innovative MX Games.
The games and Extreme Sports Course which is being put together by MediaVision Limited in collaboration with the Lagos State government is described the as the outcome of years of design and planning to put Nigeria on the map of Extreme Sports nations.
“We are obviously impressed with the efforts of the Lagos State Ministry of Youths, Sports and Social Development at creating platforms, especially through sports for youth engagement and the MX Games is coming to complement that effort,”Chief Executive Officer of MediaVision Limited, Fela Bank-Olemoh, was quoted in the Guardian newspaper.
“It has taken three years and lots of interaction with partners within and outside Nigeria to realize this project and the MX Games is a culmination of these years of design and planning to place Nigeria on the map of Extreme Sports nations”, he further added.
Mr. Bank-Olemoh said, ‘the MX Games will further engage an increasing number of youths who have gotten passionate about events like Roller-Skating and Skateboarding.”
