Here are 5 exercises that benefit your heart and overall health.

Walking 

Walking is a great way to stay active throughout the day. It is also one exercise that is easy on the joints and is less likely to lead to injuries. Walking can be done anywhere or any time (with a friend, while listening to some music or podcast, or running an errand.) All you need is a good pair of walking shoes. You can go for long walks through the neighbourhood on weekends or short walks during lunch breaks or even at home.

Weight Training

Building the muscles in your body may reduce your risk for a heart attack by up to 40 to 70 percent, according to a new study. Weight training helps you to not only build muscle but burn fat.  While going to the gym can help you to train effectively, one of the best ways to get great results from weight training is by using your own body. Bodyweight exercises like pushups, pull-ups, or squats all help you build muscle and boost heart health.

Swimming 

Although swimming is often done for leisure, it is also a great form of exercise. Like walking, swimming is easy on the joints and allows you to move your body without a lot of pain. All you need to do is sign up for a water aerobic class or swimming laps, and you would be strengthening your muscles and heart in no time.

Yoga might not seem like an exercise that can be helpful for your heart. But certain forms of yoga can get your heart rate up and reduce blood pressure Youtube is awash with videos that can introduce you to the practice of or show you how to do the movements correctly. Having an exercise routine is essential for your heart and overall health. Whether you decide to join a yoga class during the weekend, go for a walk with a friend, or train at the gym 5 times a week, make sure you exercise the right way to avoid injuries and yield great results.
