  The Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a 0-0 draw against the Black Stars of Ghana in the first leg of their Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers played at the Baba Yara Stadium, Kumasi, on Friday, March 25, 2022.

Despite the large presence of Ghanaian fans at the 40,000 capacity Baba Yara Stadium, Nigeria played solidly from the defence and would have had the day through Moses Simon who failed to convert a one-on-one chance in the second half. Nigeria will look to secure one of the five Africa World Cup tickets when they play host to the Black Stars on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.

The Ghanaians need a draw with goals to pull through while Nigeria needs a win to qualify or a goalless draw which will drag both teams to extra time and subsequently penalties to determine the winner of both legs.
