Cultivate a marketing voice that exposes your brand’s philosophy and stick to it during your online interactions. Try to understand your audience and the kind of content they prefer. If you do so, you will enjoy massive shares, comments, or likes from them. Be as honest as possible in your dealings with them.

2. Gain More Followers: The more followers you have, the more interaction you will get. That means more engagement with your social media posts. However, do not forget that you do not need any followers when it comes to increasing engagement. You need quality followers, people who are very interested in your brand that they will actively engage with you and refer others to you. You need people who will interact with your social media content in a meaningful way.

3. Send Timely Responses: Having a one-sided conversation on social media is a sin. Therefore, a conversation will work fine when there is input from both sides. Show your presence by way of replying to mentions, comments, and direct messages. This way, you can show your followers that your brand cares about them. As a consequence, you will get more mentions, comments, and direct messages. You need to be fair in your responses; address both positive and negative feedback within 24 hours time frame. You can redirect the conversation to DMs if you prefer a personalized interaction.

4. Produce Engaging Content: Your could make create relevant social media content for your followers. Your social media posts should be educative, entertaining, or helpful to your followers. Also, do not forget to promote your business in those posts. Let your posts have good headlines that will interest your followers.

5. Use Hashtags: Hashtags make it easier for people to find you. You can also join ongoing conversations and become more visible to other new people who are not your followers. You can use branded hashtags or other popular ones in order to extend your reach and gain more followers.

6. Grab Your Audience’s Attention with Visuals: They need something to stop their scrolling through social media, and that would be possible they find videos, photos, and infographics on their feed. Hence, uploading visual content which will lead to more engagement overall.

7. Create a Post Schedule and Follow it: When do you post on social media? How often do you post? Surely, these have an impact on the engagement levels you see. Post schedules, as usual, depending on when your audience is most active online and the platform they use. You should track your audience metrics and adjust accordingly.

8. Host Social Media Contests: Running a social media contest or giveaway will spur a lot of people to interact with you.  Giveaways have been proven to create some sort of buzz, and increase social media reach.  Every social media contest that you host should be designed to entice your audience with a prize and encourage them to engage with your content by either following, liking, sharing, commenting, or tagging.
