Junior Achievement Nigeria (JAN) is organizing the Venture in Management Program (ViMP) for members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). It has designed the program to train selected NYSC members in the art of managing businesses.

The Venture in Management Program will equip its participants with the skills they need to meet the demands of a career in business management. The one week program will include classroom meetings, panel sessions, case studies, guest speakers, and study groups. These will lead up to a strategy workshop, where participants will proffer solutions to various business challenges.

The ViMP will cover case studies in marketing, strategy, business ethics, accounting and finance, general management, social enterprise, leadership, and entrepreneurship. Persons who take part in the program will also be involved in a community service project, and teach JAN programs to classes in elementary schools.

Eligibility

Persons who want to take part in the program should meet these criteria:

  • They should be a serving NYSC member or must have recently finished from it
  • Not older than 27 years old
  • Should have finished from a tertiary institution with a decent result (Second Class Upper Division or higher)
  • Should have a track record of leadership
  • Must be interested in general management

Note: Persons who have participated in previous JAN programs stand a higher-than-average chance of getting into the program.

Documents Needed For Application

Applicants are expected to submit these documents:
  • Curriculum Vitae (the applicant should save this with their full name)
  • Proof of service in the NYSC (an NYSC ID card or call up letter)
  • Completed online application form
