  The OPEN Energy Fund is currently accepting applications for African entrepreneurs seeking financing for their energy businesses. If you are a woman currently running an energy startup or company and you would like to receive funding and technical support to drive it up the growth ladder, here’s an opportunity you may consider taking advantage of.

The OPEN Energy Fund is an initiative of the CSI Energy Group. It invests up to $100,000 in women-led businesses across Africa’s energy value chain and provides them with expertise to support their growth and capacity development. It specifically targets businesses with an annual turnover exceeding $25,000 and employs at least 3 persons.

Benefits

Businesses selected for this initiative will benefit from it in the following ways:
  • Receive equity investment worth up to $100,000
  • Be supported by the expertise available from the OPEN Energy Fund
  • Access to a network of similar businesses and potential partners from across the continent

Eligibility

This opportunity is open to businesses that meet the following conditions
  • Must be generating revenues consistently all through the year from an established customer base
  • Must be generating revenues of at least $25,000 per annum and employ at least 3 persons
  • Should be a registered company with proper records of accounts and licenses
  • Should have a positive impact on the environment and the community in which it operates
  • Must have significant women representation across its leadership positions
