  Applications are currently ongoing for the VivaTech Afritech Awards. Organized by the creators of Viva Technology, an annual tech conference held in Paris, France, the VivaTech Afritech Awards exists to spotlight and reward startups making a positive impact in GreenTech, HealthTech, and FinTech/E-commerce. If your startup meets these and other criteria set out by the program’s organizers, you may consider applying for this opportunity.

According to VivaTech, eligible startups should be developing solutions that reduce environmental impact, reduce CO2 emissions, protect the environment, support biodiversity, and promote sustainability in the use of natural resources. Or they could be creating solutions that positively transform e-commerce and finance. A third category is for innovations that leverage technology to make healthcare more accessible and less costly.

Startups selected for the awards will receive these benefits:
  • Get an invitation to VivaTech 2025, where they will pitch their product on stage at the AfriTech Lab
  • Engage top corporate partners
  • Pitch to leading VC funds

Eligibility

The following eligibility criteria must be met by applicants if they want to be considered qualified for consideration:
  • A startup must be headquartered in Africa and operating on the continent
  • Possess a solution that addresses health (HealthTech), environmental (GreenTech), finance (FinTech), and e-commerce challenges
  • Must have previously raised more than $150,000
  • Should have a positive social, economic, gender, and environmental impact
  • Demonstrate monetization, traction, and product-market fit
