  The Heirs Life Essay Championships is accepting applications from secondary school students in Nigeria. The competition, organized by Heirs Life Insurance company, is designed to identify and celebrate excellence in writing among school-going children and support their literacy and creativity.

This year, the topic of the essay that entrants should write is ‘My Dream Career’. Cash prizes will be won by the top-performing students. Their school will also be rewarded with a championship cup and a substantial donation to their library.

Benefits

Winners of the Heirs Life Essay Championships will be rewarded in the following ways:
  • The winning student will receive a prize of ₦2 million
  • The winning school will receive the Heirs Life Essay Championships cup and a ₦500,000 donation to their library
  • The first runner-up will get a prize of ₦150,000
  • The second runner-up will be handed a prize of ₦100,000

Eligibility

This competition is open to entrants and entries that meet these conditions:
  • Must be a JSS 1-JSS 3 student at a school in Nigeria
  • Their essay must have a maximum word count of 500 words
  • The essay document should have the child’s full name, school, and class in its header
  • The essay must be typed, not handwritten

  • The document’s font should be Times New Roman, size 13 or 14
  • Document format should be Word or PDF
