The year is already opening with interesting launches in the smartphone market. At the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG has announced its latest product- the LG G Flex 2 smartphone. The smartphone is LG’s latest flagship phone, and it is already pointing to what exciting launches await us in 2015. At 5.5 inches with full HD, the LG G Flex 2 is more of a phone+tablet (phablet), than a regular phone. It is about the same size as the iPhone 6 Plus, and a successor to LG’s popular G Flex smartphone. Even though the phone is yet to go on sale, here are the details about it currently available. Aesthetics You can guess from the name. The LG G Flex 2 builds upon the curved, flexible shape of the G Flex, which was the world’ s first curved phone. The phone features a DuraGuard technology that ensures durability (we don’t want a curved phone breaking into two, do we?), and a screen radius that measures 400 to 70mm. Specification The LG G Flex 2 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit Octa-Core CPU designed to help your smartphone run faster, and it runs on the 5.0 Android Lollipop Operating System. The phone is equipped with Wifi, Bluetooth, a rear-facing 13 megapixel camera, and 16gb or 32gb storage with an expandable MicroSD slot. The battery is 300mAh that cannot be removed from the phone. In all of this, the beauty and innovative technology invested in the LG G Flex 2 stands out. It is yet to be fully determined if being a curved smartphone gives the G Flex range an edge above other smartphones, but one cannot deny that it is an interesting improvement in the smartphone market. The LG G Flex 2 is set to be available by the end of January. About the author: Amina Salau is a writer and editor running The Illuminated Pen.
