Business owners have to contend with several messaging apps to engage and manage their customers. This was before, during and after the Coronavirus pandemic which started in 2020. It’s a wide known fact that the pandemic impacted not just the various sectors of the economy but also many individuals. For example, several online businesses sprouted up in this period and started using social media apps to reach customers. Likewise, the pandemic was an incubation period for the many innovations that flourished in 2021.
A perfect example of this is Simpu, built by Kolawole Balogun, Collins Iheagwara and Tioluwani Kolawolein in November 2021. Simpu is a super app idea they have before the pandemic happened. They wanted to build a single platform that will help businesses communicate and manage their customers.
This was how Simpu came to be as a business-to-business software-as-a-service (B2B SaaS) startup. One that enables businesses to engage and communicate directly with their customers seamlessly. Its flagship product known as a lego-flexible omni channel inbox was launched in November 2021. What it does is to bring messaging apps like email, WhatsApp, Twitter direct messages, Facebook Messenger, SMS, and website live chat, into a single platform. This helps various businesses to deliver fast, personalised, and consistent customer support and sales experiences to their clients.
Simpu means that as a business owner, you and your team can communicate with customers with their choice messaging app all in one platform. As against jumping from one app to the other especially ones that cannot be linked together. All the apps you need are linked together in one platform. So you can talk to your customers who like WhatsApp or email or messenger all in Simpu. This helps you can to effectively communicate and manage your customers, clients, and friends across all the channels and apps. Again, it provides tools for businesses to drive sales, helps businesses automate their workflow and shows you what is working and what is not in your business. There’s even a chatbot to respond to customers when your team is unavailable.

International expansion will commence eventually when it fully gains traction. Simpu users have to pay a monthly or annual subscription. And has earned over US$80,000 in SaaS revenues since November 2021.
