Rita Dominic Wins NMA Award

Nollywood diva, Rita Dominic has bagged another award as she won the Best Actress Award at the Nollywood Movie Award (NMA) for her role in ‘The Meeting’. Rita has had 11 different nominations in four different awards in 2013. The movie, ‘The Meeting’ also won the award for Best Director (Mildred Okwo) and Best Make-up (Jennifer Alegieuno). Rita was nominated alongside other notable actresses like Mercy Johnson, Uche Jombo, Bimbo Akintola, Funke Akindele and Nse Ikpe-Etim. During the presentation of the award, Rita thanked those who had contributed to her career as she promised to work harder at her craft. ‘The Meeting’, which is to be released on DVD later this month, was one of the highest grossing films of 2012. Rita Dominic made her Nollywood debut in 1998 on the set of Basorge Tariah’s ‘My Guy’. She has been casted in numerous roles over the years and became Africa’s Best Actress in 2012 when she won the Africa Movies Academy Awards (AMAA) for Kenyan film, ‘Shattered’.
